Worth to know! Worth to follow!
This true story is not a too old. It is about a poor Scottish farmer. His name was Fleming. One day, while working in a farm, he heard a cry for help. It was from a bog near his farm. So he stopped his work and rushed to help. He saw a boy screaming and struggling to free himself from a black muck at his waist. He was terrified. Fleming saved the lad.
The next day, Fleming saw a fancy carriage near his door. A nicely dressed nobleman stepped out. He was the father of the saved boy. He introduced himself and wished to pay Fleming, as he saved his son's life.
’I can't accept it.' Fleming replied. “I just did a duty of a human being.” He said. The noble man tried to insist to accept reward not the payment. But the poor farmer was firm to his word. At that moment, the farmer's son came out.
'Is he your son?' the nobleman asked.
'Yes,' farmer replied.
’Let’s make a deal. Let me provide him education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of.'
Farmer accepted this good will. His son attended the very best schools. He graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. He went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming who discovered Penicillin.
Years later, the same son saved by Fleming was stricken with pneumonia. This time Penicillin saved him. Name of the nobleman was Lord Randolph Churchill and his son Sir Winston Churchill.
In Indian mythology one finds a concept of ‘Nishkam karmayog’ It is nothing but a concept of selfless love and work without greed of repayment. Such type of work surely results into heavenly happiness.
May you do such selfless work and God offer you heavenly happiness.
